GREECE

Small islands, defined as having a population of less than 4 000 inhabitants, have formed the Hellenic Small Islands Federation, www.smallislands.eu, which has 29 member islands and a total of about 65 000 inhabitants. Most of the bigger islands in Greece are included in administrative island regions.

The organisation works for the revival of insular economies based on the prospect of sustainable development.
